With obesity reaching epidemic proportions today, especially among America’s youth, video game popularity only makes this problem worse. This year Nintendo came up with the brilliant idea of combining fun and fitness into a gaming console, appeasing parents whose kids love to play video games. They also marketed the Wii Fit as being great for parents with little time for exercise and something that the whole family can enjoy. Indeed the Wii Fit is perfect for family fun on rainy days and during the cold winter months.
The Wii Fit measures your body mass index and calculates your calorie expenditure while playing a game or doing an exercise. Fun sports such as soccer, tennis, ice skating, and skiing came be emulated on the Wii Fit. It is also good for yoga, balance, and aerobic exercises. So instead of being stationary and using only your fingers, the Wii Fit incorporates full body movements and allows kids to get good exercise while playing. Fun makes exercising more enjoyable and a lot less cumbersome. While not a substitution for playing regular sports, the Wii Fit makes a huge difference for those who like to play a lot of video games.
Finding a Wii Fit can almost be as much exercise as playing the game itself. Most retail stores probably have none in stock, and with Christmas almost here demand is probably sky high so it would be a waste trying to drive around and find one. Most likely you can find one available online at a major marketplace like eBay or Amazon (they will probably have the most competitive prices as well). So if you’re looking for something that will help keep yourself and the kids fit, and something that’s also fun for the whole family get yourself a Wii Fit this holiday season.

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010Wii Fit Plus and Balance Board by Nintendo is a fabulous Gaming Console. Backup Wii Games Step by Step Guide Click here If, like me, you weren’t interested in games and thought they were a waste of time and worse a major component in the ‘unfit couch potato syndrome’ then think again. This is way more fun than the gym to get fit and instead of just sitting around as you would with say a PlayStation, you now have to move to make the game work.
It is easy to use, in fact it is ready within minutes of unpacking. You have a choice how you will use Wii Fit Plus. You may decide to just play sports games, many different games. You can experience Juggling, Cycling, Hula Hooping, Skateboarding, Tennis, Golf, Skiing, Boxing, Rhythm Kung Fu and many other choices. You can try a new game every day. This is a fun way to get fit. You can also let friends have a go.
The second choice is to do the Yoga, strength training and balance training. This takes some time to set up because it measures your BMI (body mass index) for weight loss and also puts you through tests to assess your strength and flexibility. You can then choose which exercises you want to do. Then, decide which exercises you wish to repeat to strengthen different parts of the body and design a customized workout routine for whatever time you want – 5 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes. Wii also gives you feedback and tells you if you have done the exercise well or not.

This program also helps you set goals for the development of your fitness. So you can compete just with yourself or set up a challenge with your partner to keep you both motivated. Wii Fit Plus and the balance board use a motion or pressure sensing device that is wirelessly synchronized to your Wii and replicates body movements. It has a wireless controller and a virtual games console that allows you to access many games.
So in the comfort of your own home you can have fun and try anything you choose at anytime and all for a price much cheaper than a gym membership. Better still you don’t have to have the ‘right gear’ or have any criticism of those extra pounds you have gained or how unfit you are. After all 90% of the population is unfit and overweight.

Friday, December 11th, 2009Some time last year when my old TV decided to breathe its last, I was faced with a new challenge: of buying the latest TV. I wasn’t sure whether I should go the LCD or Plasma way. After a rudimentary search on the net, I decided to take a look at both before I made my purchase. Later that evening, I was back home with my new purchase, and it was neither a Plasma or an LCD. Instead, it was a Nintendo Wii gaming console. That’s how my tryst with Nintendo Wii games began.
Of course, the Nintendo gaming console is more than a gaming machine. It combines multimedia, PC, gaming console and browser in one. Which explains why I bought it even when it was a couple of hundreds costlier than the Plasma I had intended to buy! But, Nintendo really scores with its Wii games. That’s where it really packs a punch.
Nintendo Wii games have a long established reputation as one of the best video games out there. This is in part due to the sheer quality of the gaming console. Since you can play these games with a wireless remote control and with body movements, there is absolutely no sense of restraint. It’s pure, unadulterated fun all the way.
To make matters easier for the new owner, Wii setup is fairly easy, though it does require some getting used to. The best part, as I found out, was that you can hook up to your favorite sports news as soon as you set up your Wii. It is free!
Now, let’s move on to the real goodies – the games! Almost all Nintendo Wii games are a treat to play. However, some are obviously better than others. One of my favorites is the ‘Mario Kart’, where the player has the freedom to create a personalized Mii and compete against a handful of opponents. When used along with the Wii wheel, you can enjoy some awesome tricks.
Another winner for Nintendo Wii games is the Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Get together with your whole family or a bunch of friends to get the best out of this multiplayer thriller. The sheer number of characters and the depth of characterization are amazing. You can customize your matches any way you want. And if you want to, you may even share screenshots and winning game replays with your friends. For neophytes, the simplicity of the gaming controls is an added benefit. You only ever have two attack buttons and you can produce a host of variations simply by tilting the controls in various directions. The fun of the game is to understand the weaknesses of your opponents and utilizing that knowledge to smash them out of the competition.
Rayman Raving Rabbids is another popular Nintendo game. This a compilation of exciting mini-games designed for the Wii. The storyline is interesting and there are enough twists, turns and laughs to help you along the way. Featuring some of the best visuals in Nintendo, this game is also intended for multi-players. The child in you will be delighted with this game.
Video Game Store – We offer most price efficient video games for your kids includes nintendo, playstation 2, xbox, ps3 with high resolution screen shot that you never experience before in any of video game. Buy Online!

Saturday, November 28th, 2009Why is Nintendo’s Wii Fit so difficult to get? This shows a change in the industry trends in the recent times. Wii Fit is attractive because you have to exactly use your whole body to effectively play the game. The older games had just the consoles and the major complaint about the video games was that they affect the player’s physical health as he spends lot of time in front of the console without any body movement.
The strange thing is that when the concept of Nintendo Wii console was revealed the way the future game consoles are going to control the game with motion-based controllers, the society was stunned in disbelief and everyone though it is hard to believe that it will work It is fresh in memory as it happened yesterday. Everybody thought that Nintendo is close to death and bankruptcy. But after two years look at it now.
Entire Nintendo games are a hit especially the Wii Fit. The Wii Fit wants the movement of your entire body while the normal Wii game requires some hand movements. This is the visible example of the shift that is happening in the video game industry. Now the trend is that people want movement of the entire body when playing video games to get the actual feel of the game than just using the consoles.
Games like the bowling and tennis asks the player to have body movements with the same strength and sway as they would do if they were physically playing the game out there in the field There is nothing bad in this trend. In fact it is a big positive for the video gaming industry. For a long time the video games were looked at as having a negative impact on the teenagers and their health.
Now it involves your entire body in the game and it becomes as good as you are playing the game outdoors. There is news out there that some gym trainers are including the Wii Fits in their fitness For people who are badly in need of games the trend is not helping because it is so hard to find a game.
For the industry this is a positive sign that the games are being accepted more widely as a true form of entertainment. If you thought Nintendo Wii was just for kids, think again. We are discovering an ERA of gaming entertainment and living a healthy lifestyle.

Friday, November 27th, 2009Nintendo Wii Systems
Nintendo Wii systems are infiltrating every household in America and they should be for what they have to offer. Many people who haven’t experience the game play of a Nintendo Wii will have they’re expectations shattered into another endless world of gaming industry technology. Instead of speaking like a NintenDork, It’s better that I explain what the Nintedo Wii system will offer and where you can purchase these game consoles.
The Gameplay of the Nintendo Wii System
To expain the gameplay of the Nintendo Wii in a non-technical, non-dorky way, it’s basically the gaming of the future. The Nintendo Wii is unlike any other gaming console out there because it adds another dimension to your experience that you would have never thought would be possible for home video games. Each Wii controller acts more like a wand, where you can control the figure in the screen with your own body movements. This form of technology has never been released for home ever and the fact that Nintendo released this kind of technology in a no fuss no muss marketing approach led to the popularity of this gaming console worldwide.
Where to Find Quality Used Nintendo Wii Systems
As much as I would love to pay retail for the Wii system and I believe it is worth every penny, I just can’t seem to for anything at retail just because its retail. So where shold you go to find a used nintendo Wii system? I suggest you go online and find an auction site such Cowboom.com. Cowboom has a quality control department where they test each Wii system manually before listing them online. They also offer a return policy. You just need to read the description fully because each listing might not have the same accessories included because these Wii systems are most likely customer returns from retail stores.

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009The Nintendo Wii is a great games console. It is radically different from other game consoles available on the market. The games included with the Wii are excellent and introduce you to the Wii controller in a very appropriate manner. They all have the usual Nintendo feel and stamp of family fun. The Wii remote and the Nunchuck controller feel a little different at first, but they are very intuitive to use because using body movements to play games is far easier than just pressing keys.
Wii setup is pretty easy and enables you to start playing games fairly quickly. Playing games on the Wii is smooth and very absorbing. Even though Wii graphics do not have the best resolution, they are more than adequate for games. What is truly innovative is the design of the games controller, and the way Nintendo have integrated it into the manner in which you have to play the games. If you like to play games with friends and family, you will have to get a second controller to get into the spirit of things; you will not regret it.
The Wii wireless setup is also very easy. After connecting the Wii, you can immediately check sports, weather, and news over Nintendo’s free online service. The Wii uses a standard SD card for memory. You can get a Wii high capacity memory card for a fairly reasonable price.
The battery life in the Wii leaves something to be desired. The Wii drains AA batteries fairly quickly. The Wii remote sometimes looses it’s connection with the console when the batteries are low on power. The Wii wrist strap may not be very durable, but Nintendo are very prompt in dealing with any warranty claims you may have.
The quality of the materials and workmanship on the Wii is excellent. The Wii remote is sturdy enough to withstand being dropped by kids. The Nintendo Wii usually sells out very quickly, so get it as soon as it is available at your local store.

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009Hardly a day goes by when you don’t hear about the obesity epidemic in the world today. It’s important to think about your health, and one of the ways to ensure your long-term health is to get plenty of exercise each day.
However, it’s sometimes easier said than done. If you’re scared of gyms, but still want an interactive workout, then you should look into the latest addition for the Nintendo Wii gaming system: Nintendo Wii Fit. The Nintendo Wii Fit is designed to make exercise a fun activity again that anyone in the family can enjoy, no matter their level of fitness. It’s also highly interactive and educational: it guides you through designing a workout program, tracking your progress and learning proper technique, among other things.
To use the Nintendo Wii Fit, you simply step on its balance board. The Nintendo Wii Fit balance board reads your body movements and weight distribution and transfers them to the TV screen in front of you. With the Nintendo Wii Fit, you can do everything from strenuous cardio workouts to yoga to strength training right in the convenience and comfort of your own living room.
As mentioned, the Nintendo Wii Fit helps you set fitness goals based on your own choices and also allows you to track workout progress over time. The Nintendo Wii Fit has a function that allows you to measure your BMI and fitness age. You can even record workouts done outside of the Nintendo Wii Fit to accurately measure your increase in overall physical health.
The Nintendo Wii Fit is designed to be a fitness and educational tool, but it’s also designed to be fun as well. You can use it while playing a variety of different Nintendo Wii games for a different kind of workout experience.
If you are ready to make fun and fitness a permanent part of your life, then getting a Nintendo Wii Fit is one easy way to do it. With everything the Nintendo Wii Fit can do to help your health and fitness, you’ll completely forget that you’re exercising.
